anxiety is not cured by forcing a person into the situation that makes them anxious
and for those who are like “BUT EXPOSURE THERAPY”… let me stop you right there, because exposure therapy:
-does not involve force
-is ultimately controlled by the individual
-is not the same as just having somebody “face their fear”
-doesn’t always work for everyone
-is guided by a trained professional in a safe environment
-teaches relaxation and coping skills before any exposure
-involves a person being gradually exposed to the problem situation/object at their own pace, starting with the least anxiety-provoking association (eg. a picture, or a word) and moving towards the actual thing only as the person becomes comfortable with each step in their ‘fear hierarchy’
-does not involve force!!!
If you don’t understand why people don’t like the big bang theory, once in an episode the cast was at a comic store browsing and a woman walked in, and one of the leads said “Is she lost?” and that was the joke.
is anyone actually allowed to look this celestial, I don’t understand
this person looks like they straight up descended from the heavens on a cloud of tastefully subdued knitwear
also check the way the scarf is tied. Outstanding.
You are allowed to grieve the years you lost to mental illness. You’re allowed to be mad that it happened to you. You’re allowed to pine after the person you might have been had it been different. But don’t let that get in the way of your growing into your new self and following a wholly new path for your life.
It blows my mind that after all this time you’ve spent on earth, nobody ever bothered to tell you that your eyes aren’t fucking brown.
They are copper against honey and sage and when they water they glow, two perfect orbs the same shade as nature after it rains.
You’re not as simple as they wanted you to be.
"you’re not as simple as they wanted you to be"
